Lately, I have been thinking about my personal design philosophy. In my work, I try to step into my client's shoes. They have come to Fusion Creative Works for a reason. It's because one day the client got really and truly passionate about an idea—be it a book, company, or service—so passionate, they want to invest their valuable time and money in it. When I approach a new project, I strive to feel the same passion that the client feels. As a graphic designer, I have found out that it's not about me. My client's passion for what they do is my reason for existing as a designer. |

Whew! It's been a busy few weeks. In the world of work, I just had a client, Change Leadership Group, LLC, who I did some really nice work for. I am particularly proud of the flyer, which can be found in my graphic design portfolio. I'd like to figure out how to feature good emails in my portfolio presentation. Ah, in time. 09.30.08 I had a meeting the other day with my boss and a senior designer. The goal of this meeting was to teach me more about web design. So, I have now been trying to use the info in my current projects. I have just started building a site for a friend. Also, I'm going to start learning about XML. I'd really like to learn more about the intricacies of web design. 09.13.08
I graduated from Northwest College of Art *officially*! Woo-hoo! 09.12.08
So out of pure boredom and researching other graphic designers' sites, I have decided to undertake the task of rebuilding my portfolio site. I'd like to have something that's clean and that the Googlebots will approve of. Hopefully, this will deliver. |
From her earliest memories, Kirsten Nordstrom wished to express herself artistically. It was not until high school that her skills began to be developed and shaped. The huge jump in hand skills led her to the desire to create art for a living. During her high school career, she was recognized by several publications for her blossoming talent.
In the fall of 2005, she began an artistic career at Northwest College of Art in Poulsbo, WA. There, she worked on her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Visual Communications degree. Upon application, she was awarded the Freeman Merit Scholarship and has maintained high marks. She has been exposed to a variety of mediums and artistic techniques, which has opened her eyes to the full possibilities of art. Currently, she is enjoying developing her skills in the many facets of graphic design. Download my current resume (.pdf format) |
